The Istituto Italiano Scuola (IIS) is an outpost of Italian language and culture in San Francisco. IIS is conveniently located at 601 Van Ness, near the Opera House and the San Francisco Symphony.

As the only school affiliated with the San Francisco Italian Cultural Institute, our mission is to provide the highest quality Italian language instruction in the Bay Area.

We offer four terms per year. Each term lasts 10 weeks. Regular classes and Intensive classes are available.  With over 30 Italian language classes and workshops to choose from, we offer the broadest selection of courses in the Bay Area.

Our team of highly qualified instructors are all native Italian speakers who hold degrees from Italian universities.
