Whatever happens

This is the story of Giorgio Ambrosoli, for five years Commissioner liquidator of the private bank of Michele Sindona, killed in Milan by a killer at night between 11 and 12 July 1979. He told her at thirty years away his son Umberto, That at the time was a child, based on personal memories, family memories, friends and collaborators and through the father's agendas, the procedural cards and some films of the RAL archive. In the background, the history of Italy in that dramatic period. In investigating the joints of a corrupt and lethal political-financial system, Ambrosoli acted in a situation of isolation, difficulty and risk of which he was well aware. He had written to his wife: "I will pay dearly the assignment: I knew it before accepting it and therefore I don't complain at all because for me it was a unique opportunity to do something for the country [...] whatever happens, anyway , you know what you need to do and I'm sure you will know very well ". The story illuminates the exemplary character of the choices of Giorgio Ambrosoli, his coherence to the ideals of freedom and responsibility and, together, underlines the positive value of a still extraordinarily current story. With the preface of Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.
