Put the devil to dance

Salento is a harsh, mysterious, magical land. And it is in this "land of remorse", as it defined Ernesto de Martino, which Teresa de Sio set the story of Archina Solimène, of her sister Filomena and their terrible Father Nunzio. The top and very nervous story of Archina, made of violence and solitude, binds to the history of a whole community: the town of Cutrofiano, in the heart of the Salente, which welcomes the Solimène family when she moves from Procida. Over time that goes from the end of the Second World War to the early seventies, during the long and difficult years of the transition from an archaic and rural culture to a "modernity" that struggles to arrive.
