The sand man

In the heart of a winter night when the snow coats entirely Stockholm, a boy walks along the tracks of a railway bridge suspended on the ice, towards the center. He loses blood from one hand and is in a very serious state of shock: in his feverish delusion, he talks about a mysterious man of the sand. The boy is called Mikael and he has disappeared for twelve years. From seven he was officially declared dead. At the time of the facts, after long research, everyone preferred to believe that Mikael had drowned together with the little sister, Felicia, disappeared the same day, although the bodies have never been found. All except Commissioner Joona Linna. He has always known that the two brothers are among the many victims of the most ruthless Swedish Serial Killer, Jurek Walter, the man who himself captured years earlier. Since then Jurek Walter has been held in isolation regime in the low-security unit of the Lowenstromska psychiatric hospital. He can't talk to anyone and is constantly sitting, but nothing manages to ask him. The evil that lives in him is animated by an uncontrollable fury. With the return of Mikael, however, everything changes. No case can be considered closed. And Felicia could still be alive ... the only one to know the truth is Walter, the only man perhaps able to be more dangerous behind bars that as a free. Someone must introduce himself to the hospital and conquer the trust of the serial killer, hoping to induce him to speak. And above all, hoping to survive him ...
