"Viva L'Italia" is playing at the 2014 Italian Film Festival USA. What if one day a politician would begin to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? The politician is Michele Spagnolo. He has three children: Riccardo, a respected doctor; Susanna, a talentless actresss; and Valerio, a good-for-nothing whose career has been helped by his father. In a career spanning thirty years, Michele has always put the interests of the community ahead of his personal wishes, and has passed unscathed through the myriad of scandals that have plagued Italy. After a night spent with a showgirl, Michele has a seizure and survives, but not without consequences. He now says anything that comes to his head and does whatever he wants without the slightest appreciation of the gravity of his actions. Il film racconta la storia di un politico, Michele Spagnolo, che in seguito a un grave malore perde i freni inibitori e dice tutto ciograve; che gli passa per la testa diventando una mina vagante per se stesso e per il suo partito noncheacute; per la sua famiglia. Corrono a salvarlo i suoi tre figli che poco si sopportano tra di loro: Riccardo, medico integerrimo e socialmente impegnato, Susanna, attrice di fiction senza alcun talento, Valerio, buono a nulla che deve tutto al padre. Proprio da qui prende l'avvio il film, una commedia che racconta il bel paese nelle sue tante contraddizioni, senza risparmiare niente e nessuno.
